School governors are part of one of the largest volunteer forces in the country, and their role is unique in education because they carry meaningful responsibilities while serving voluntarily. At Mastermind English Medium School, our Governing Body actively contributes to school improvement by offering both challenge and support.

Governors serve as a constructive and trusted partner to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team. They provide strategic guidance, encourage high standards, and help ensure that important decisions are always aligned with the best interests of students, families, staff, and the wider school community.

One important example is the monitoring of targeted educational funding, including support designed to improve the attainment of disadvantaged pupils. Our governors help ensure that these funds are spent effectively, reach the students who need them most, and produce measurable, positive outcomes.
